BTS announce debut performance of 'Butter' at Billboard Music Awards 2021
ARMY, get ready! K-Pop icons, BTS announced on Tuesday that the World TV debut of their new single 'Butter' will be at the Billboard Music Awards on May 23. The group will take the stage remotely from Korea and will broadcast the LIVE performance during the telecast.
The band took to their official handle to make the announcement that read, "We can’t hold it in any longer! Our debut performance of #BTS_Butter will be at this year’s @BBMAs! Watch on Sunday, May 23rd."
The boys - RM, V, Jin, Jimin, Jung Kook, Suga and J-Hope will drop their new summer track at midnight on May 21. 'Butter' is the group’s second English-language single following 'Dynamite' that dropped last August. The song will reportedly bring out the smooth and charismatic charm of the boy band.
BTS is nominated in four categories at the BBMAs that include Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Social Artist (Fan Voted) and Top Selling Song.
The group previously won Top Social Artist for the last four years in a row and, given the strength of the BTS Army, is a favourite this year as well. The record-holder for that fan-voted category is Justin Bieber, who won it six years in a row from 2011-2016.
Ahead of the song launch, the boys have been giving fans a taste of all that is in store by dropping concept clips that feature them in cool settings.
The K-Pop superstars suited up in style for the first teaser image and have since been releasing teaser pictures of each member in his sharp and sophisticated new look for the music video. This new look is a strong contrast to their fun, flirty and cool avatars for their 'Dynamite' music video.
